A Magical Virtual Carol Concert for Smile Train
Don’t miss out on a carol concert this year, the International children’s cleft charity, Smile Train, is hosting their annual fundraising service – with a virtual twist!
On Tuesday Dec 1 at 7.30pm, Smile Train will be launching an hour-long Christmas carol concert – which people across the UK can tune into for free via Smile Train’s website, to kick off the much-anticipated festive season.
Filmed at the Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair where the Christmas-classic Love Actually was shot, the concert will feature festive performances from the Choir of Grosvenor Chapel and a welcome message from Smile Train UK Director, Ian Vallance.
Carols will be interspersed with inspiring stories from those who have been supported by the charity, as well as hymns from four of Smile Train’s patient choirs from Brazil, Chile and Colombia – made up of children and young people who have benefited from the charity’s cleft care.
But wait—there’s ‘myrrh’!
Making sure it’s a not-so-silent night for viewers, BBC Young Musician of the Year finalist and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist, Toril Azzalini-Machecler from Chineke! Junior Orchestra will be performing a percussion ensemble as well.
The carol concert is free to watch, but any online donations raised on the night will allow the charity to continue providing free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care to children globally.
So cosy up with your loved ones, pour yourself a steaming mug of hot chocolate, and tune into Smile Train’s virtual Christmas carol concert in order to enjoy some Christmas hymns and help change the world one smile at a time.
Roanne Moore, Carol Concert Curator and Development Manager at Smile Train UK says,
By moving this year’s event online, everyone across the UK can join the festive fun – and from the comfort of their own home!
