Make it Monday: DIY Advent Calendars
Every Monday we show you how to put your own stamp on Christmas with tips, tricks and kits to make the most wonderful time of year as unique as you are. This week we’re bringing you a selection of DIY advent calendars that you can make, fill and use again year after year.
Nice and neutral
This kit from Postbox Party is pretty and delicate. And, because of the neutral colour scheme, it will go with whatever Christmas decor theme you go with. You can hang it from your fireplace, or get creative with some branches!

3D Houses
The great thing about DIY advent calendars is they’re reusable, making them the perfect option for the environmentally conscious. And this little kit, made up of 24 cardboard houses with gold numbers, is perfect in its simplicity. The boxes are also big enough that you don’t need to just stick to tiny chocolates, you could get creative with the surprise for each day!

Mini Stockings
Of all the DIY advent calendars we have here, this one will be particularly exciting for kids. After all, instead of just one stocking on Christmas Day, they’ll have 24 to open on the run up to the big day! Add mini chocolates, candy canes or sweet treats. Or another great idea is to include a ‘kind act promise’. Write a short note for each stocking with something you and the little one can do to brighten someone’s day. It could be as small as ‘Be sure to smile at someone you see today’ or ‘Drop off some tins at the foodbank today’. After all, that’s what Christmas is all about.
